Antonio "Lil Tony" DeShawn McMorris

Antonio Deshawn "Lil Tony" McMorris 38, of Asheville NC, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 9, 2023. "Lil Tony'' was the son of the late Tonya McMorris and Rodger Brooks. 

A native of Asheville, "Lil Tony'' attended Asheville City Schools. He was a long-term resident of the Lee Walker Heights Community (Lee Gardens). As a child, his interests were spending time with his family and friends, motorsports, and acrobatic flipping. Tony is survived by his aunt Pamela Vance who raised him, father Rodger Brooks, uncle Chris McMorris, sons Antonio Suber, Jhalil McMorris, Kaeshawn Smith, and Khalil McMorris, niece Tae'ya Vance, aunts, uncles, and a host of cousins. "Lil Tony" was preceded in death by a son D'mane McMorris, maternal grandparents Lonell and Marie McMorris, aunt Mary Vance, and brother Antonio "Tony Man" Vance. Tony will always be remembered for his infectious laugh and big smile. He was loved by many and will be truly missed.

A funeral service to honor the life of Antonio "Lil Tony" Mcmorris will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at St. James AME (44 Hildebrand) at 1pm. He will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow the funeral at Sunset Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Avery's Memorial Chapel from 2pm - 7pm. The service will be live streamed on Avery's Memorial Chapel's Facebook page.
