Anthony James "Pops" Baird of Asheville went home to be with our LORD on Friday March 10, 2023.
Pops worked for several years as a chef in several high-end restaurants here in Asheville. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing with his grandchildren, watching wrestling, and playing video games.
Anthony was proceeded in death by his mother Cornelia Nelson, siblings Willie Nickels III, Alfred Nelson, Vicky Nelson and Paula Nelson.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons Jonathon Logan and Jamal Baird (Heather), siblings Michael Baird (Renee), Kenneth Robbs, John-Paul Nelson and Connie Whittenburg, grandchildren Shania, Latearane, Synquisitiy, Monique, Little Johnathon, Zayland, Kymia, K-Don and Nevaeh.
A Memorial Service to honor the life of Anthony Pops Baird will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Worldwide Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church (85 Choctaw St.), at 12pm. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Hospice Solace Center of Asheville or Worldwide Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in his memory.
