Alice Adell Pea

Alice Maggie Virginia Adell Pea, daughter of the late Rufus and Virgina Pertiller Adell, was born on October 15, 1942, in Fletcher, NC and ended this journey of Life on Tuesday June 24, 2025, in the presence of her loving daughter Stephanie.

Alice received her education in Asheville, NC and was a graduate of Stephens Lee High School class 1960. After completing her high school education, she was employed at General Electric (GE) for over 35 years. During her time at GE, she obtained many honors and awards such as Outstanding Contributions during her career of faithful service and dedication.

Alice also was a devoted and faithful member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church family. She served faithfully on the Usher board, as well as the City-Wide Usher board, and the church Senior Choir until the latter years of her life.

After Alice’s retirement, her time was devoted to her three granddaughters who were the love of her life. Alice could also be found spending quality time with her nieces and nephews while staying active at various recreational centers or simply enjoying time with the church family.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by, Aunt Christine Pertiller Thomas and Uncle Wardell Pertiller (guardians); brothers Garfield Pertiller, Columbus Pertiller, Joe James Adell, Charles Adell, Horace Adell Sr., Robert Adell; sister Asonia Adell-McDowell.

Left to cherish Alice’s memories are her children Charles Edward Pea (Pamela) of Aurora, Colorado, Stephanie Pea Hubbard of Knightdale, NC, Jerome Pea of Hendersonville, NC; grandchildren Victoria Pea, Elizabeth Pea and Maya Ryan; brother John Rufus Adell and sister Hattie Mills. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church members, community family and friends of the surrounding area.

A Funeral Service to honor the life of Alice will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church (537 Concord Rd), at 1pm. She will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the church cemetery immediately following the funeral. The service will be live streamed on Avery's Memorial Chapel's Facebook page.
