William (Billy) Miles Rhodes, Jr. born on September 14, 1966, was the son of William (Bill) Miles Rhodes, Sr. and Ethel Alice Rickman Rhodes. Miles entered into his eternal rest on March 14, 2019.
Miles attended Asheville City Schools and Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College. He retired as a substitute teacher from Asheville Middle School.
Billy had a great sense of humor and always enjoyed putting smiles on people’s faces. He loved to imitate “Madea” and pranking his close friends. He would get in a car and say, “This is my car!” When one would deny that, he would point to the word “Miles” and declare that was his name proving it was his vehicle.
Losing his ability to walk, Miles never let that stop him from being mobile in his power chair. He traveled all over Rockwell, NC shopping and running errands.
Before his death, Miles got his wish of returning to Asheville and was a resident of the Oaks on Sweeten Creek. His final wish was to return to Asheville to live out his final days.
Miles was preceded in death by his parents and his confidant Mrs. Patricia Poore.
Those left to mourn his loss are his godmother Ilka Bowditch McDowell, caregiver Eric Porter, man’s best friend Teddy Bear, and many others.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
