Mack Moore Obituary

Mr. Mack Moore, friend to all who knew him, went home to be with our LORD on Wednesday November 27th. A life long resident of Asheville, he was the son of the late Minnie Pearl Moore and Herbert Miller, and Rev. Jack Moore Jr. (stepfather). He was also preceded in death by his brother Christopher Miller.

Mack was a graduate of Asheville High School class of 1977. He loved playing football, baseball and wrestling. He went on to join the United States Marine Corps where he served 10 1/2 years. Mack was promoted to Staff Sargent for his heroism and leadership exhibited in a special forces unit (which he led) in Beirut Lebanon. He was the owner of M&M Heating & Cooling. Mack lived his life to the fullest and touched so many people during his time. He was happiest when he was working and surrounded by his family and friends. Mack loved old school 80's music, as anyone who attended his many Funk Festivals can attest to.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Diane Moore, daughter Jasminu Moore, granddaughters, Jyniah Pinkston and Ne'Kiyla Mills, aunt, Elizabeth Galloway (Eugene),  siblings, Tarance, Angie, Wanda, Monica, Herbert Miller, Jr., Crystal Miller Gray, and Darrell Davis, several nieces, nephews, cousins, fellow Marines, and many many friends.

Services for Mr. Moore will be held Friday December 6th at 12:00 pm at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church (47 Eagle Street Asheville, NC). Burial will immediately follow at the Western Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery in Black Mountain.
