Juanita Rhymes departed her life on Sunday, October 14, 2018 in Asheville NC for a more peaceful rest with GOD.
She was born on January 11, 1950 to the late Ted Ryans and Rosalee Adams. Juanita resided in Asheville for 68 years and was a 1970 graduate of Asheville High School.
She was a loving and caring mother since the loss of her significant other and our father Lawrence Means.
Juanita’s favorite hobbies were cooking, baking, dancing and listening to music. She loved the color orange and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
We will hold a lot of great memories from North side to South Asheville. No more pain, no more suffering.
She is preceded in death by her youngest granddaughter,Trinity Chaplin, sisters; Carrie Lou Webber and Letha Copney, brother, Leonard Ryans, and stepmother, Leslie Ryans.
She leaves a Legacy of love to daughters Sherie (Stan) Mitchell, Laura Chaplin (the Late Brian Chaplin) of Durham, NC, son she raised and lived with her, JaQuan Evans of Arden, sisters; Rosa Mae Rhymes of Atlanta, Ga, Harriett Rhymes and Alice Chapman of Asheville, Sharon Ryans of Greenville, SC, brothers; Tommy (Linda) Rhymes, Larry (Carrie) Rhymes, Joe Ryans, Enoch Smith, Chris (Donna) Ryans all of Asheville, other grandchildren include Jordan Mitchell, Destiny Rhymes, Secree’t Rhymes, Mercedes Rhymes, Briance and Starr Chaplin all of Durham, NC. SPECIAL COUSIN, Elizabeth (Eugene) Galloway, Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Jayla Barnard and Meghan Prater.
Services for Juanita Rhymes of Asheville will be held Monday October 22 at 12pm, at the St. John Baptist Church on 14 Legend Drive in Arden. Burial will immediately follow the services at Riverside Cemetery in Asheville.
