Janie Simuel Stevens

Mrs. Janie Simuel Stevens, 86 of 91 Rock Hill Road Asheville, departed this life March 9, 2019 at Stone Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Stevens was born in Union, SC to the late Moses Simuel and Hassie Simuel Caldwell. She was a loyal member of Sycamore Temple Church of God In Christ, where she served as a Sunday School and YPWW Teacher. President of the Senior Choir, Local, District, and Citywide Usher Boards, Secretary of the District Sunday School and President of the District Hospitality.

She is preceded in death by a grandson Vierl L. Banks, Jr. Those left to cherish her memory included her devoted daughter, Vivian Campbell (James) of the home, one grandson Victor Banks of Asheville and nine great - grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services for Mrs. Stevens will be held on Thursday March 14th, at 12:00 pm at Sycamore Temple Church of God In Christ located at 11 N Ann Street Asheville, NC 28801. Burial will immediately follow at Sunset Cemetery located on West Chapel Rd.
