Dolores H. Lassiter

Dolores H. Lassiter died peacefully on Friday, September 7th at her residence. Born in Asheville, she was the daughter of the late McKinley Hymes,Sr. and Elizabeth Smith. 

She was a graduate of Allen High School and a graduate of Central State College at Wilberforce, OH. She received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. She also graduated from Eckels College of Mortuary Science in Philadelphia, PA.

Dolores was engaged in the profession of mortuary science, where she owned and operated Bennett and Associates Mortuary in Asheboro, NC. for over 35 years.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Laurie E. Bennett of the home, sister Dorothy Haygood of Altadera, CA, Goddaughters Diane E. Barnes and Linda Terry, both of Greensboro, NC., Velma Bluford of Laurens, SC, nieces Ouida A. Weston of Asheville, NC, Arlene B. Price of Greensboro, NC., and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins raised like sisters and brothers Thomasina Edward of Washington, DC, Ruth Samuels of Baltimore, MD, Robert L. Hymes of Baltimore MD and Cleophia Locke of Washington DC. 

The funeral services for Mrs. Lassiter will be held  at 11:00 am on Friday, September 14th at Tried Stone Baptist Church.  Rev. Alfred Blount will be the officiant. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will follow immediately after the services at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
