Carrie L. Brownlee, 91, a resident of Asheville for 60 years passed away peacefully on July 10, 2019. Ms. Brownlee was born in Abbeville, SC on March 20, 1928 to John and Carrie Rosa Brownlee.
Ms. Carrie is preceded in death by 12 sisters and brothers.
She retired from John Carroll clothing in 1980 and was a member of Brown Temple CME Church. She loved reading the Bible, listening to gospel music, cooking, sewing and would do anything for anyone. She was a very loving mother and grandmother.
Left to cherish her memory are daughters; Edna Williams of Charlotte, Linda Brownlee of Raleigh, and Walterina (Roderick) Brown of Arden, grandsons; Tim (Kelly) Wilson of Asheville, Patrick Wilson of Charlotte, C.J. Wilson of Charlotte, Roderick, Jr. of Arden, Rayshaun Brown of Arden, great granddaughters; Tiffany (Jerell) Jackson of Charlotte, Nikki Strickland of Asheville; great grandson; C.J. Wilson of Charlotte, Carson Wilson of Charlotte, great-great grandchildren; Jye, India, Kendall Jackson of Charlotte and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services for Ms. Brownlee will be held on Monday, July 15th at 1:00 pm at Brown Temple CME located at 32 Phifer Street. Visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow the services at Sunset Cemetery.
