Ms. Revella DeBrew went home to be with our LORD on Saturday April 20, 2024. She was born on November 16, 1944, to the late Preston Blakely, and the late Virginia Blakely. She was a lifelong resident of Asheville where she attended and graduated from Stephens-Lee High School. Throughout of her life, she worked and retired from Grove Park Inn.
Revella aka "Ms. Cocktail" is known for caring and taking in anyone in need, especially children. Her favorite line was “Ima get butter from the duck.” Revella was a member of Brown Temple CME Church where she volunteered and helped. Other than her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister Patricia Blakely McCurry, and a granddaughter Dea Johnson.
Left to cherish her memory is her longtime partner Greg Watson of Asheville, sons Pierre Blakely of California, Andre Blakely of California, and James DeBrew, Jr., of Philadelphia, sisters Barbara Martin of San Francisco, Yolanda Choice of Petaluma California, and Erika Blakely of Rohnert Park California, numerous grandchildren, great-grandson Landen, her uncle James Foster, many nieces, nephews, goddaughters, godsons, and other extended friends and family.
